When motion is detected during restricted times, a live operator reviews the footage immediately. If needed, the operator can use a loudspeaker to warn trespassers in real time or trigger a pre-recorded voice message instructing them to leave. If the individual does not comply, the operator can contact law enforcement and provide a detailed description of the trespasser.
All video clips triggered by motion are securely stored in the cloud, making them easy to access anytime from anywhere. There’s no software to install on your computer—just log in through a secure link. Recording documents an incident. Monitoring interrupts one.
This is the distinction that matters most for a board. A recorded-only camera system produces evidence after the fact. It tells you what happened, who was there, and sometimes which direction they went. What it does not do is change the outcome while it is happening.
A monitored system puts a person in the loop during the event. When someone climbs the pool fence at one in the morning, an operator sees it, speaks to them, and most of the time they leave. Nothing gets stolen, nothing gets vandalized, and the board never has to review footage of it.
Why verified alarms get a better police response
A signal from an unverified motion sensor is one of thousands a dispatcher handles. A call from an operator who is watching live video and can describe what a person is wearing and what they are doing is a different category of call. Verification also means far fewer false dispatches, which keeps you out of the false alarm fee cycle.
Where communities get the most out of it
The highest-value zones are almost always the amenities after hours: the pool deck, the clubhouse, the tennis and pickleball courts, the fitness room, and the playground. Beyond that, parking areas, the mail and package room, and any secondary or back gate that does not get much traffic.
These are the places where any activity during restricted hours is worth a look, which makes them ideal for scheduled monitoring. A main entrance with traffic all night is a poorer fit.
You set the hours
Monitoring runs on a schedule you control. During normal daytime use, residents come and go without anyone watching or being alerted. The armed window typically starts when the amenities close and ends when they reopen. That keeps the service focused on the hours when nobody should be there, and it keeps the cost proportional to the risk.
What we check before we quote it
Clearly Safe works with the cameras you already own, but not every camera is a good candidate. An operator has to be able to tell what is happening and describe a person usefully, so we look at whether the existing views have enough resolution and are positioned well for that. We also check the upload bandwidth at the property, since clips have to reach the cloud, and we confirm the existing recorder will work with the bridge.
If a few cameras need to be repositioned or upgraded to make monitoring effective, we will tell you that up front rather than selling you a service that cannot deliver on the views you have.
What it does not require
No new camera system. No ripping out your recorder. No server in the clubhouse and no software on anyone's computer. For most communities the existing infrastructure stays exactly where it is, and the monitoring layer sits on top of it.
