Existing Alarm System Activation
HD Smart Solutions Terms of Service – Existing Alarm System Activation
This Terms of Service (“Agreement”) outlines the conditions and responsibilities for customers requesting activation of an existing alarm system (“System”) by HD Smart Solutions, whether performed remotely or on-site.
1. Scope of Service
HD Smart Solutions agrees to activate and monitor a customer’s existing alarm system. Activation may be performed either:
Remotely, via phone or internet, without a physical site visit; or
On-site, with a technician dispatched to the premises.
2. Customer Responsibilities – Remote Activation
For remote activations, the customer assumes full responsibility for ensuring that all alarm system components are:
Properly installed and fully operational;
Free from damage or malfunction;
Equipped with functional and adequately charged batteries.
HD Smart Solutions will activate monitoring based solely on the information provided and the system's reported status at the time of activation. HD Smart Solutions does not perform any testing, inspection, or verification of device functionality during remote activation. Monitoring will begin upon activation, but HD Smart Solutions assumes no liability for devices that fail to report, are non-functional, or have battery or signal issues. Any devices that are not functioning properly are the customer’s sole responsibility to repair, replace, or remove.
3. Customer Responsibilities – On-Site Activation
When HD Smart Solutions performs an on-site activation, we will test and verify the communication and functionality of all accessible alarm devices and sensors at the time of service. However, the customer acknowledges and agrees that:
Some devices may not immediately report issues or status anomalies until up to 24 hours after activation.
HD Smart Solutions is not responsible for any device that fails or becomes unresponsive after initial testing.
If any sensor or device is found to be defective or unreliable at any time during or after activation, the customer will be responsible for the cost of replacement equipment and associated labor fees. Replacement parts, including but not limited to sensors, batteries, or transmitters, must be paid for by the customer.
4. System Ownership and Limitations
The customer acknowledges that HD Smart Solutions is not the original installer or manufacturer of the existing alarm system. As such:
HD Smart Solutions assumes no responsibility or liability for the performance, integrity, or compatibility of pre-existing equipment.
Any component failures, incompatibilities, or system limitations inherent in the customer’s existing setup are outside of HD Smart Solutions’s responsibility.
5. Battery Replacement
For both remote and on-site activations, HD Smart Solutions will replace batteries only when the system actively reports a low battery condition during the activation process. Future battery maintenance is the responsibility of the customer.
6. Monitoring Limitations
Monitoring services provided by HD Smart Solutions are contingent upon the proper operation of the customer’s alarm system. HD Smart Solutions will only monitor what the system communicates to our monitoring station. If a device fails to report due to power, signal, battery, or hardware issues, HD Smart Solutions cannot be held responsible for missed signals or non-responses.
7. No Warranty on Existing Equipment
HD Smart Solutions does not warrant, guarantee, or certify the functionality or longevity of any existing equipment or components. This includes any wiring, control panels, keypads, sensors, sirens, or other devices not supplied by HD Smart Solutions.
8. Acceptance of Terms
By requesting activation of an existing alarm system, the customer agrees to the terms outlined in this Agreement and understands their responsibilities with respect to the system's functionality, maintenance, and performance post-activation.
