Our journey as FL Smart Homes has been remarkable. We've provided a broad spectrum of services, ranging from security cameras and alarms to access control systems, and much more. However, with growth comes reflection and the need to align our services more closely with our core expertise and customer needs.
With the transition to HDSS, we've made the strategic decision to refine our service offerings. While we will continue to provide top-tier security cameras, alarms, and access control solutions, we will be stepping away from services like TV mounting, installation of customer-provided cameras, and smart products. This refinement allows us to focus more on our specialized areas, ensuring that we deliver the best in class security solutions.

What we focus on now
Narrowing the service list was the whole point of the change, and it has held. Today we install security cameras, alarm systems with 24/7 monitoring, access control and video intercoms, structured cabling and networking, and Starlink. We work with homeowners, businesses, and HOA communities across Broward, Miami-Dade, and Palm Beach counties.
What we stepped away from was the general handyman-adjacent work that used to come with the smart home label: TV mounting, installing equipment a customer bought elsewhere, and one-off smart product setups. Those jobs pulled technicians away from the work we are licensed and equipped to do well.
Why a narrower scope produces better work
A technician who installs camera systems every day gets better at camera systems. They know which mounts survive salt air, where a recorder can live without cooking, and how to plan a run so a future camera addition does not mean opening a wall again. Spreading the same crew across a dozen unrelated trades makes everyone adequate at everything and excellent at nothing.
It also means we can stand behind the work. When we specify the equipment, run the cable, and configure the system, there is no ambiguity about who owns a problem if one shows up later.
What has not changed
No long-term contracts and no hidden fees. You own your equipment and your admin credentials. Every project starts with a free onsite walkthrough rather than a number over the phone. And we are a licensed Florida low voltage contractor, License # EG13000794, which you are welcome to verify before you hire anyone, including us.
